ClickUp has a narrow edge.
ClickUp's checkout is friction-free, Linear's story is tighter
COMMUNITY PICK
Community verdict is still open. The first back decides the Community Pick.
One tap, no signup. Your back moves that company up the community board; more backers make it the Community Pick. The score doesn't change.
WHICH SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?
Both are defensible: it depends on which of these you actually care about.
Choose Linear if…
Choose ClickUp if…
Worked out from prices read on each company's own site and what reviewers repeatedly say, both linked below. We don't pick a winner: the right answer depends on which of these you care about.
ClickUp wins on the boring stuff that actually converts: a 'Get started. It's FREE' button with no credit card and a pricing page that itemizes every AI add-on down to the dollar. Linear's homepage reads better, but its trust signals are thin and its pricing page has half the detail ClickUp's does.
ClickUp's homepage buttons say 'Get started. It's FREE' and explicitly promise 'No credit card' required, plus a separate 'Get a Demo' path for buyers who want a human. Linear's 'Get started' and 'Sign up' buttons work fine but don't pre-empt the card question.
ClickUp lays out Free Forever, Unlimited at $7, Business at $12, plus named AI add-ons like Brain AI at $9 and Everything AI at $28 per user, so a buyer can price out their actual stack before talking to sales. Linear's pricing page has just two tiers, Free and Basic at $10 per user, which is clean but leaves out anything past entry level.
Linear's headline, 'The product development system for teams and agents,' tells a visitor exactly who it's for in one line. ClickUp's 'Software to replace all software' is a bigger promise that's harder to prove on a features page listing tasks, docs, chat, goals and AI Agents all at once.

GOOD AT
Linear's homepage and customer page tell one consistent, focused story about AI-era product teams, and the free tier plus $10 Basic plan is easy to grasp in five seconds.
COSTING THEM
The customer page cites '40,000 organizations' and quotes like 'Linear is excellent, just excellent' without naming a single company, so the trust claims feel unverified.
GOOD AT
ClickUp's pricing and features pages are exhaustive to the point of overwhelming, which works in ClickUp's favor when a buyer wants to comparison-shop before signing up.
COSTING THEM
Its own positioning ('replace all software') invites the question of whether it does everything well, and like Linear it leans on a HIPAA badge and vague nav links to 'Customers' and 'Reviews' instead of showing actual proof.
THE OVERTAKE MOVE
Linear should put two or three named customer logos with a real result, not just the '40,000 organizations' line, directly on the homepage where the quotes currently sit unattributed.
Fix it, then rescan in a week to see if the result flips.
Only Linear's pricing has been checked so far; ClickUp's is next time it is analysed.

CLICKUP
We haven't checked this company's pricing yet.
Prices are read from each company's own pages and never estimated. When a business bills by usage or only by quote, there is no single price to compare, so we show the meter and what can make the bill grow instead.
ClickUp scores 81/100 to Linear's 78/100 on PickDuel. ClickUp wins on the boring stuff that actually converts: a 'Get started. The score rates how clearly each public website explains the product, earns trust, shows pricing and asks for the next step. It is not a judgement of product quality.
Issue tracking and product development system built for engineering teams and AI agents. (Based on linear.app.)
All-in-one productivity platform combining tasks, docs, goals, chat, and AI workflows. (Based on clickup.com.)
Linear: Pricing features a permanently free tier for up to 250 issues and a Basic tier starting at $10 per user/month. ClickUp: Presents clear pricing tiers ($7/mo Unlimited, $12/mo Business, Free Forever) along with explicit AI add-on costs.
Nobody has backed either side yet. Anyone can back one side, once, with no signup. Backing never changes the PickDuel score.
PickDuel reads up to three public pages per website and runs one web search. A language model rates 11 specific signals from 0 to 5, and fixed code turns them into a 0-100 score: positioning 25, product clarity 20, trust 20, conversion 20, pricing clarity 15.
PickDuel scores public website communication, not product quality. Backers never change the score. How scoring works
Almost nobody decides between two. These are the businesses the public puts next to Linear, with the reason each one comes up — checked against their own sites and their public reviews, not our opinion.
Project management and team communication software organized around fixed-price, all-in-one workspaces.
Software suite connecting project management, IT service, documentation, and development teams with AI.
Work and project management platform coordinating human teams and AI agents across enterprise workflows.
Free plan, then $10 per seat / month.
All-in-one collaborative workspace blending docs, spreadsheets, applications, and proactive AI.
The same rules run in both directions: Linear is on 8 other shortlists for the same reasons. Nothing here rates anyone's product, and no business can pay to be added or removed. Something wrong? Tell us
